ARCHIVES
from the 2011 holiday desk of the artistic director
In the city which seems the World
Damp banners of felt fly like gossamer
With winds pinned to the soft, rigid slat
Suspended between poles of the necessary charade
That breezes move the banner, absolutely straight
Across the noon street, empty at four a.m.
(wolf hour) when impossible creatures from the subway
Breathe with no breath upon timed traffic
Lights: empty road occasional night car
In the kingdom not seen amid artificial signs
Temporary as cut flowers: the cut cord of death ‘s sentence
Spooks us with the permanence of shadows
The solidity of invisible footsteps, impalpably
Remembered outside the tick of timed lights
As the crows carry away the day old bread
Seeming miraculous near the ground
Scavenging cooked wheat from the barren stone.
As I know I have scattered old crumbs
What gods know the real astrology of my sometime bones?
Costume for native kingdoms I ( alive again) roam?
Maybe these gods have e been spinning the sun
Which rolls Runic wheel wrong way round
Like a toy pyramid upside down.
The day I discovered the face in the rock
Other side the painted triangle’s artificial mark
I wished I could remember the toy pyramid’s date
Years ago, when all I gathered was a prism of paint
Chalk white in the mud at the asphalt gate
& had forgotten the tin can full of beef
Cooking on the small gas flame
Beside imported Portuguese wine
In green bottle shaped like royal perfume
Taste of the new wine today reminds my heart
Of the old pathways secret in public manuscripts
Leading to brief moments of sun
Carried within darkness of city canyon’s roads

The Fish Catcher Experiment
g9h

a new play
by Eugenia Macer-Story
THEATER FOR THE NEW CITY
February 2-20 2011
In "The Fish Catcher Experiment" a full length play scripted by Eugenia Macer-Story, scientists from several countries attempting to study the powers of a guru in Old Ceylon encounter the actual "Fish Catcher" known to the original inhabitants of the Pacific Rim. We started off in February 2010 with a literary reading of the script which will become a staged production in February 2011 at Theater For The New City--NYC. The "scientific" dilemma is amusing. Please follow us as we explore the morphing of events by a form of "natural magick".
Cast for February 2011
Michael Louis Bernardi, Cait Bliss, Jessica Cermak, Geovanni Gopradi, Von Jacobs, Neal Kodinsky, Caiti Maloney, David H. Mohr, Patrina Murray, Primy Rivera, Melene Sosi, Matthew Dean Wood.

A circus performer-astrologer-tax accountant is conjuring spirits according to sorcery diagrams and gets more than he bargained for as by a series of odd coincidences he is suspected of the “hot dog wagon” serial poisonings. This is a satiric play but there may be some resonance with socio-political topics .
The wife of one victim escapes by feigning madness. Or is she actually also pushed over the brink by a ghost? Gypsies circulate among the protagonists trying to sell protective icons.
